Barcelona’s De Jong and Araujo to miss Granada clash

Araujo to undergo surgery on Friday as a result of injury, and would likely be out of play for a few weeks. De Jong might be back soon but the Dutchman is not expected to be available for Saturday’s game against Granada in La Liga.

Meanwhile, Barcelona has been unfortunately dealt with, a double injury blow after the club confirmed on Thursday that Frenkie de Jong has sustained a calf strain while Ronald Araujo will surgery on a fractured hand also.

Recall that the Araujo and De Jong were both substituted during Barca’s Copa Del Rey win over Linares Deportivo on Wednesday.

Naija Catapult reports that, according to a statement by the club, “Ronald Araujo has a fracture in his right hand. The player will undergo surgery on Friday under supervision of the club’s medical services”

” Frenkie de Jong has a calf strain in his left leg. He is out and his availability will depend on his recovery” the club statement added accordingly.
