Court puts off burial date of woman murdered by husband, Ovye Yakubu in Lafia, says ‘It is man against Government’

The Government of Nasarawa State takes over case of woman, Esther Aya, a civil servant with the ministry of education who was murdered by husband Ovye Yakubu, a primary school teacher in sabon pegi, Lafia North development area of the State.

According to the Court “It is man against Government” as burial date was fixed by deceased family after several pleading visits by the murderers family to burry the corpse.  (Mrs Esther Aya) without officially notifying and getting approval from the Court, as the case is still on and judgement is not passed yet, Naija Catapult reports.

The burial as fixed by the families to be today Saturday 21st January 2022, after making of the grave by alleged killer’s family was put off by a standing order from the court.

Recall that, Esther Aya, a teacher with Government Secondary, Doka, was allegedly killed by husband Ovye Yakubu on the 7th of January, 2021.

Ovye Yakubu attacked his wife over the services of a carpenter fixing mosquito nets in their home, which the husband ordered the the carpenter to stop working, which the wife reacted to, but Ovye further chased the carpenter with one of the planks used for the carpentary work out of the compound.

Naija Catapult reports that,  the murderer – Ovye Yakubu was arrested on the 8th of January, 2022 by the Nasarawa State Police Command for brutally killing his wife, Esther Aya.

Remember that, ASP Ramhan Nansel, a Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) gave the confirmation accordingly in Lafia saying; the suspect was arrested on Friday after Police received report of the incident.

The Police Public Relations Officer added that; investigation was on at the State Criminal Investigation Department Lafia to reveal the mystery behind the the murder of Esther Aya, and said; the corpse of the woman killed has been deposited mortuary for more examination.

Meanwhile, the murderer – Ovye Yakubu claims not to have beaten nor hit the wife with anything, after examinations show that, the deceased body has bruises on arm, neck and legs, broken legs, blood in the mouth.

However, the Court has made it Known that, the burial and case of Esther Aya Anjugu is a case of Man against Government and the deceased now belongs to the Government.
